Last month, I had an unforgettable trip to Ha Long Bay. I don’t want to talk about how beautiful this place is because everybody knows it’s a World Wonder. I want to talk about Squid Ball– Ha Long specialty. This is one of the tastiest delicacies in viet nam I’ve ever tried.

The ingredients must be big and fresh squids. In the market, each kilogram costs about 200,000 to 300,000 VND. After carefully choosing and removing unnecessary parts, squids are cleaned and wiped off until dried.

The key to make a true flavor of Ha Long squid ball lies in the pounding step. Cooks pound squids by their hands. Each piece of squids is put into a large stone mortar, one by one pestle is milled with the strength and endurance. Pounding by hands keeps the taste of the squid and make it is crispier.
